What I do for funPlaying Guitar and other musical instruments, music production/digital recording, writing songs, cooking, cycling, making art, making videos, watching films
Dream JobRunning a record label, producing artists and doing design/branding/video for music or running a studio like Electric Ladyland in New York City.

Paul was Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Bar Mitzvahed in 1975 at Young Israel of Canarsie and declared a man in the eyes of God at age 13. After that, he started playing and studying guitar with some great Italian teachers and never went to synagogue again.

Paul holds a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from New York University and has also studied at the Centre for the Media Arts and the Institute of Audio research.

After graduating from NYU, he worked in recording studios, design firms and video production companies including FNN, Federated Department Stores and ERI Training, Dimensional Sound. He also directed music videos for the vocal group Rockapella (PBS-Carmen San Diego) and directed video segments for Do It Acapella - a PBSGreat Performances TV special with Spike Lee, directed by Ernest Dickerson. All the while writing his own songs and honing his music and productions skills on computers, early MIDI, synths and software in the 1980s.

Paul has enjoyed a substantial career in communication design, having worked in newspaper and magazine design as well as in packaging, advertising and the other cool areas of the design business. He has worked on business for clients including Calona Vineyards, Mark Anthony Group, Credit Union Central, BC Tel Mobility and Cragmont Beverages.

Never with both feet completely out of the music business, Paul has produced more than a dozen full length CD projects for emerging artists in Vancouver. He was often found playing many or all the instruments for people including guitars, drums/beats/loops, bass, and keys. He has also produced hundreds of demos for songwriters over the years.

As it often happens, Paul came to Vancouver in 1992 because of a girl. As it almost never happens, Paul came to Tugboat because he ran into Steve at a Wendy’s.
