Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) is one of the largest travel agencies in the world, so it makes sense that their global website has a page tailored to each of the 150 countries they serve.
In Canada, CWT’s online presence is strong. Its national page functions alongside the company’s brick-and-mortar locations to help current and prospective customers keep on top of travel opportunities.
The Canadian site needed a redesign to keep pace with the company’s high quality global sites and suit the changing needs of its customers.
The redesign was completed in early July, keeping the needs of the company’s primary customers – business travelers – at its core.
CWT worked with Tugboat to create visual and information design that allows visitors to find content easily. We designed the new site by customizing code to work with the company’s current content management system.
The interface needed to help visitors determine what content was more recent and relevant, so important items were given more space and relocated to the top of the page. A filter was also applied to the news feed feature so that it features a manageable number of the most interesting and recent news posts.
We made sure the company’s smart phone app featured prominently, including an embedded video demonstrating how the app can help travelers stay up-to-date on their flight information and other travel needs.
